From 1976 until 2001 Arvind, along with his wife Rama, who joined the business in 1982, manufactured hot water bottle covers here in the UK. At the business' peak over 1 million covers were being produced per year for the UK market. The products have always been sold through wholesalers into the pharmacy and gift retail markets and direct to consumers, previously via car boot sales, school fetes, and markets, and more recently via online!

After being forced to make their team of over 30 staff redundant in 2001, they took their design, machining, attention to detail and quality control skills out to factories in the Far East and built partnerships, to bring products to the UK that met the highest quality standard; a standard that they manufactured to at their original UK factories. "We had no option. As UK manufacturers, at that time we couldn't compete with the cheap prices our customers were getting from the Far East." says Arvind.

Today A. Mistry Ltd continues to nurture those Far East partnerships that began over 13 years ago.
